FINAL PRESENTATION

Overall goals:

  • Learn how to do special effects: we knew little about special effects/video editing. Since we got a lot of school projects involving videos, we wanted to stand out, and do a great job. It will also help us in the future.
  • Do a successful video using what we learned: when we started we didn't knew much, but we didn't only want the the information, we actually wanted to put it to use.
Process:
  • We started researching using different tools such as YouTube  Google, and different blogs that talked and teach about the topic.
  • We researched which was the best program for special effects and video editing
  • We collected and took notes, on the programs, tips, and types of effects  and decided which one was the best.
  • We filmed the scenes we learned from our research
  • We gave each scene an specific effect with different programs
  • Then we join each scene to make the actual effect, and joining everything together with Movie Maker
Fails:
  • In the green screen effect, we failed because we never found a perfect wall or background to make it work
  • When we tried to do the Rotomate effect, it didn't saved correctly and erased the face out of the object
Tools:
  • YouTube: we looked for videos that were able to show us some effects, how to do them, and how to use some programs. Which were difficult to use
  • We used Google to find different webpages and blogs that thought us about good programs and were to download them, some effects, tips, skills. Such as:
  • http://www.deskshare.com/resources/articles/vem_UsefulEditingTechniques.aspx
  • http://www.linkedin.com/skills/skill/Video_Editing
  • https://www.magisto.com/
  • We used Wax 2.0: this helped us to create effects like, cloning, disappearing, fast/slow motion, cartoon hiding and others
  • Cantasia: this program helped to record our screen to explain the process
  • Format Factory: this program converted files to different formats, so the certain programs would accept it
  • Movie Maker: the program helped to put all the videos together to create the whole video
Useless Tools:
  • We thought that most of the pages we found were useless because we didn't understand anything compared to YouTube videos. With YouTube we could see exactly what to do.
